Workout Hard Rock Music Sample Playlist

By C.H. Finn

Alright, this playlist is my feeble attempt to atone for my last playlist. This playlist should get you started on your weight training workouts.

  1. Jailbreak – Thin Lizzy
  2. Hair Of the Dog – Nazareth
  3. Zero – Smashing Pumpkins: One of these days I’m going to publish a playlist for strippers and this will be on it along with Motley Crue.
  4. Immigrant Song – Led Zeppelin: A song to bring out the Viking in you.
  5. You Really Got Me – Van Halen: The original by The Kinks doesn’t really rock. This does.
  6. Love Removal Machine – The Cult
  7. More Human Than Human – White Zombie
  8. Higher Ground – Red Hot Chili Peppers: The is only one of two covers of Stevie Wonder which I have thought were worth a darn.
  9. Mach 5 – The Presidents Of the United States Of America
  10. Welcome To the Jungle – Guns ‘N Roses: Does anyone really think Axl will ever release Chinese Democracy? This is such a trite selection, but I know if it was omitted I would hear about it.
Total time: 35.8 minutes.
This list is slanted toward songs recorded in the 70s and 80s. Hey, I can’t help it if that’s when so many of the great rock tunes were recorded. Why do you think they call it “Classic” Rock?
